Sentella is built by the people who show up
We know that getting to Sentella isn’t always as simple as buying a ticket.
Sometimes the ticket price is a genuine financial barrier. Sometimes you’d love to come, but spending that much on an event is hard to justify. And sometimes you’re already contributing your time, skills and energy to making Sentella happen.
We want to make space for all of those things.
Our Contribution & Access Ticket programme offers a few different ways to receive a ticket with some support while helping make Sentella happen.
There is no single definition of what contribution or access looks like. We’re a community, not a points system, and we’ll work with you to find something that makes sense.
🐝 Worker Bee
Help us build it. Help us break it down.
Worker Bee is for people who want to get involved before or after the event, helping with the work that makes Sentella possible.
This might include:
- Pre-event set-up
- Site preparation
- Infrastructure and construction
- Logistics
- Pack-down and strike
- MOOP and site restoration
- Other substantial behind-the-scenes jobs
Worker Bee contributions can be anything from a specific job to joining the Sentella Operations Crew (SOC’s) for set-up or strike.
We’ll agree on the contribution with you and provide a ticket discount appropriate to the time and nature of the work. Larger contributions may qualify for greater ticket support ♡
🔥 Participation
Be part of the crew that keeps Sentella running.
Participation is for people who want to contribute during the event through volunteer shifts or other event responsibilities.
There are lots of ways to participate, including:
- Gate
- Greeters
- HQ
- AOD
- Fire
- Ice
- MOOP
- And plenty of other things that need doing!
As a general guide, around 4–5 meaningful volunteer shifts would be considered a substantial contribution and may qualify for a significant ticket discount. Larger contributions may qualify for greater support.
There is no fixed exchange rate between hours and ticket price. 🔥
Discounts are agreed individually, taking into account the nature, responsibility and time involved in the contribution, as well as the support available to Sentella.
You can also talk to us if you have a particular skill or contribution in mind that doesn’t fit neatly into a shift-based role. 🔥
🌱 Community Access
If the ticket price is getting in the way, talk to us.
Sometimes you really want to be at Sentella, but the ticket price just isn’t workable right now.
You don’t have to fit into a particular income bracket or prove that you need support “enough”. People’s circumstances are complicated, and we know that a lot of different things can make a ticket difficult to afford at a particular moment. ♥
If the cost of attending is a barrier for you, please reach out and tell us a little about your situation. We’d much rather have a conversation and see what’s possible than have someone miss out because they assumed they couldn’t ask. ♥️
Community Access Tickets are considered individually and confidentially, based on your circumstances and the support we have available.
You may be offered a discounted ticket, and in some circumstances we may be able to offer greater support. We’ll do our best to find something that works. ♥
How does it work?
All three routes use the same simple information form.
Tell us:
- Which route you’re interested in
- What you’d like to contribute or what support you need.
- Anything else you think would be useful for us to know
We’ll then get back to you and work out what makes sense.
For contribution-based tickets, discounts are agreed on a case-by-case basis according to the nature and extent of the contribution.
For Community Access, we’ll consider your circumstances confidentially and do our best to help where we can. ♥
And you don’t have to know which one you need.

A little note about community reciprocity
These tickets aren’t intended to turn contribution into a transaction where every hour has to be measured and matched to a ticket price.
Sentella works because people contribute in all sorts of ways — some people build things, some run shifts, some make art, some organise, some do admin all year, and some simply show up and participate.
We want our ticketing to recognise that contribution takes many forms, while keeping Sentella accessible to people who need a little extra help getting through the gate.
All contribution commitments should be agreed in advance, and everyone participating in the programme remains subject to the Sentella Code of Conduct and our community expectations.
